 ugust 1. We’ll carpool or convoy from there to Valemount (approx. 4.5 ho
 urs)\, aiming to arrive mid-afternoon.\n🗓 Trip Overview:\nSaturday\, Au
 gust 1 – Travel DayWe’ll drive from Kamloops to Valemount and check i
 nto our accommodations. You're responsible for booking your own lodging\, 
 but we can coordinate to stay near each other (hotel\, motel\, campsite—
 your choice).\nSunday\, August 2 – Hike DayAn early start! We’ll begi
 n the Mount Terry Fox hike at 8:00 AM sharp. This is a challenging 16.7 km
  out-and-back route with a loop at the summit\, gaining 1\,489 metres of e
 levation. Expect a full day on trail—plan for 8+ hours including lunch\,
  breaks\, and plenty of awe-inspiring photo stops.\nThis route features al
 pine ridges\, dramatic views\, and a sense of sacred connection to the spi
 rit of perseverance and purpose. Be prepared for a long\, demanding\, and 
 unforgettable trek.\nMonday\, August 3 (BC Day) – Drive HomeWe'll take o
 ur time heading back to Kamloops\, sore but inspired.\n🎒 What to Bring:
 \n\n\n 	Full day hiking gear\n 	Sturdy boots (this one’s no joke!)\n 	We
 ather-appropriate clothing (layers for the alpine\, rain shell)\n 	Food\, 
 lunch\, snacks\, and 2+ litres of water\n 	Hiking poles (highly recommende
 d)\n 	First aid and emergency supplies\n 	Bear spray\n 	Headlamp (just in 
 case)\n 	Overnight bag for your Valemount stay\n\nThis hike takes place on
  the homeland of the Simpcw First Nation\, part of the Secwépemc Nation\,
  and also touches the traditional territory of the Lheidli T’enneh. We w
 alk these trails in respect\, recognizing their deep connection to the lan
 d long before it carried the name Mount Terry Fox.\nMount Terry Fox is a s
 ymbol. A monument to determination\, grit\, and belief in something bigger
  than ourselves. In 1980\, Terry Fox ran a marathon every day on one leg. 
 We will hike just one\, tough\, demanding\, beautiful trail in his honour.
  Let’s climb for the reminder that ordinary people can do extraordinary 
 things.
