Welcome to all our new and returning members. We look forward to seeing you all on the trail this year if we haven’t already. Thank you to our membership team and IT Committee for all your hard work processing our club memberships and keeping our website running smoothly.
We have 17 membership spots left for 2023 before membership ends March 31st or when we hit 200. Sign up asap to avoid disappointment.
We’ve had a busy start to the year from January to March with 53 events including many snowshoeing and even hiking events when the weather has tricked us that it’s spring 😊 February included an out of town trip to Mount Robson and Jasper. This trip was so successful, we hope to run it next year. Thank you to all our leaders for all your volunteer work. We are always looking for new leaders and all the creative and adventurous ideas they bring.
Please check out our AGM event posting and sign up. You can step forward to nominate yourself for a position on the board if interested or just come along for this important opportunity to vote for the board and enjoy the hike and social event. This is a great time to mingle with members. There are quite a few board positions available as indicated in the AGM event posting. Thank you to all our past and present board members for your time and energy in dealing with administrative work, club decisions and concerns along with all your creative ideas and plans to keep our amazing club going over the years.
The events continue including the 2nd annual Eggmazing Race on April 1st. This event is just pure fun and laughs. There is room for 2 more teams. Thank you Lisa for organizing this amazing event.
We have two upcoming seminars: the Backpacking Seminar and Gear Swap in April and a Hiking Safety Seminar with a date tbd. Don’t miss these informative and fun events.
We have a number of backpacking and out of town events along with our weekly hikes and other events planned for 2023. Tips for booking any event include checking the website frequently and watching for cancellations if you don’t get a spot. You can also comment on the event & new members are encouraged to check out our Successful Bookings and Guidelines & Expectations information. Leaders will sometimes duplicate the event on a different day if enough interest is shown. Become a leader and add your own event 😊 Please remember to bring your 10 essentials along on our events.
Happy hiking and see you on the trail soon.
