KHC currently has about 140 members. We try to balance the number of members with the number of event spaces available.

Please note:

  • Membership is $35 per year
  • Memberships are valid for one year
  • Membership fees are nonrefundable
  • A new waiver is required each year (no waiver, no hike, no exceptions)
  • Registration is complete when all three steps are done:
    1. Online registration form
    2. Online waiver
    3. Payment of fees
  • Once registration is complete, new members will be contacted by email
  • Registration is processed by volunteers, so please allow time for waivers, forms, payments, and websit accounts to be set up
  • New members will receive a website login and temporary password by email
  • Please keep your login name and registered email address, you will need one of them to access your account and register for events
  • Automated club emails may go to spam or junk folders, especially with older email systems such as Hotmail or MSN
  • All events are posted by volunteer hike leaders
  • To minimuze admin respoinsibilities for the hike leader, we do not collect forms or fees at events
  • KHC has only individual adult memberships (no special rates or membership categories for couples, or families)
  • Perspective members should review KHC Guidelines and Expectations before making the decision to join.

Full Membership Benefits

  • A user account on the website – allows online bookings for all events (that are not yet full), online cancellations, the ability to post comments, and manage your account
  • Participation in guided group hikes.
  • Participation in other events – backpacking, camps, kayaking, snowshoeing, workshops, etc.
  • Membership in the Federation of Mountain Clubs of BC ($10 per member) & a liability insurance program ($18 per member) are both included
