Kamloops Hiking Club is a volunteer-driven outdoor club that helps members explore the trails, landscapes, and outdoor spaces of Kamloops and the surrounding region.
Throughout the year, KHC organizes hiking, snowshoeing, backpacking, and other outdoor events for members. Our outings are planned and led by volunteer Hike Leaders who bring local knowledge, route experience, and a shared love of getting outside.
Members can view upcoming events and register through the club’s dedicated online booking website. Each event page includes helpful details such as difficulty, duration, meeting location, requirements, and other important information so members can choose outings that suit their ability, interests, and comfort level. Hikes can fill quickly, so members are encouraged to check the website regularly for new postings and available spots.
KHC events are generally kept to smaller group sizes, helping make outings more manageable, enjoyable, and safe for everyone involved. Members are also covered by the club’s insurance policy while participating in official KHC events, providing added peace of mind while out on the trails.
Membership also connects you with a welcoming outdoor community. Whether you are new to Kamloops, looking to discover more local trails, or hoping to meet others who enjoy hiking, KHC offers an organized way to get outside with people who share your interest in the outdoors.
As a well-established club in the Kamloops community, KHC also receives vendor discounts from some local merchants. The KHC Executive Board keeps the vendor list updated, and participating vendors may be provided with a current member list to confirm eligibility. When shopping with a participating vendor, simply let them know, “I’m a KHC member,” to receive the available discount.
Renewing and new memberships open February of each year and continue until our maximum club number is met.
