- The amount of hikes/events we offer depends on the number of members we have that are willing to offer their time to plan, organize, lead & assist.
- Any member that has been with the club for a few years or hikes on their own is encouraged to ‘step up’ and help the club.

Hike Leader Program & Recognition
- Hike leaders planned and organized the following events in January: Kenna Hike & Social (Erika & Kevin x 2, Monika x 1, Mark Hopkins & Erika x 1), Lodgepole Lake Snowshoe (Monika & Roy), SunPeaks Snowshoe (Monika & Liz), Larch Hills (John & Carole), Dogwood Marshes to McConnell Lake (Monika, Bunny & Jamie), Sabiston (Carole & John), Rose Hill (Maureen & Bunny), Ramble on the Snow (Ramblers), Rivers Trail West (Ramblers)
- Thank you to all our volunteer Leaders who continue to plan and lead fantastic events for our club.
- You can see the events that were posted by going to Past Events and 2024 Events Grouped by Month
Events Program
- We had 13 events posted in January which was lots given the recent weather & trail conditions.
- The club is struggling to post events so we are asking & encouraging all our club members to help and we are also using hiking teams to help schedule Tuesday, Wednesday & Sunday events
- Any club member can join and assist these teams so that the club gets some regular scheduled events posted for Tues, Wed & Sun and the responsibility of planning, organizing and leading events is shared by a team.
- Any hike leader can post events when they want and when it fits into their schedule as that increases the events that get posted for the club.
- We are always looking for eager volunteers to step up and become leaders and co-leaders:
- Leaders plan, organize & post events and co-leaders help the leader execute a fun & safe event.
- If you are interested please check out the Hike Leader Program & Resources information and/or contact Monika Taki the KHC Hike Leader Liaison for more information.
