This is a new route up to the Deep Lake area. There is a new proposed parking area just past the Dunes golf course that will eventually be built to accommodate about 12 vehicles. Currently there is a rough trail leading steeply up which joins to the Deep Lake loop trail. We will climb up to that, then continue up to the Grasslands Community Trail, then circuit off trail back to our trail.

At time of posting the trail was mud free, tick free, and ice free. This could change of course especially the ticks. They will be out very soon, so be prepared with appropriate light colored clothes, maybe bug spray. Be aware there are some off trail areas where tics could be more prevalent.

The loop takes us up onto the grasslands with some lovely views across the valleys, and we cross the pipeline at some points. The parking area can only accommodate maybe 3 vehicles at this time so we will meet to carpool at the Sun Rivers shopping complex (Starbucks, Petrocanada), lots of space there and right now no restrictions for parking. Meet up time 9 am.
