This is a very popular hike in the Mara Mtn area which takes you to some stunning hoodoo formations down on the Tranquille creek. We will start at the Mara loop trailhead and connect with the double track trail that heads up the hill. The Guardsmen loop is all on trail with a tricky short section down to the creek itself. Remember this is tic season so be prepared with the appropriate light clothing. Be alert on yourselves and fellow hikers to keep checking for these little nasties.

If we do get more snow or a lot of precipitation the trails in this area get extremely slimey and difficult to hike, so this event will be cancelled. At time of posting all the trails were in good shape.

The loop is 10-12 km with about 600m elevation and is considered moderate. We will meet at the Airport Dog Park at 9 am to carpool to trailhead.
