Description
Balmoral Trailhead to John Evdokimoff Park return. White Lake Traverse.
This is a flowing trail that takes you through the tranquility of the spruce and cedar forest between Blind Bay and White Lake. From the Balmoral Trailhead, we will head south, up to the K9 viewpoint (2km) with vistas south and west toward Tappen and Notch Hill. We will then continue our way toward White Lake reaching the John Evdokimoff Park overlooking White Lake (7.4 km one-way). We can have lunch at the park, or depending on the decision of the group, take a side hike (uphill) to the first White Lake view point.
This trail is a moderate hike of about 4 to 5 hours return. There are a few hills en route but nothing too strenuous. Basic fitness is required.
We will meet at Valleyview Arena at 8:30am, to carpool and drive out to the Balmoral trailhead. The drive is approximately one hour, 84 km, one way.
Sorry for canceling. Going out of town. Have fun!
