There are some small changes to the website.    The goal is to make improvements, and as needed, fixes too.    Any of the changes can be changed back quickly.   All of the work is done by volunteers.

1. We have added a field for the events – Pace.   This is for the hike leader to indicate whether he/she wants the pace for the hike to be more clear.    It defaults to na (not applicable), but the hike leader can instead choose from one of the other terms – easy, moderate, steady, or brisk.     This is also of use to the potential hikers in choosing events.
2. We have changed the events display to a single column.    The events sometimes get split between the first column and the second.   With only a single column, members have to scroll down to the later events.
3. We have added a Widget on the right for Draft/Tentative events.    These are for future events that have a flexible date and location.     The events could be an early heads-up or it could be a tentative outing requiring discussion between the hike leader and members.    To have an event display in this widget, hike leaders choose Tentative/Draft from the list of events categories.     If the event is no longer tentative, the hike leader can change the event to Hike in the list of event categories.    More information on categories can be found at this link.
4. Comments were not working properly, but a fix was applied and it seems to work better now.

A website like this one requires updates, fixes, and some detective work.     Updates, app conflicts, faulty coding, and human errors keep the site dynamic and in need of some attention on a regular basis.    Thanks for everyone’s patience.
