As the years role by, the types of events that may be posted gradually changes over time.    We can create, change, or adjust event types (categories) to meet some of these trends.

To this end we have created some new categories and have adjusted others.

Cancelled – Hike leaders can now change the category to Cancelled and it will displayed on the event listing.

Draft – This is unchanged, except that the work Tentative is now its own category.    Draft events are scheduled, but not yet enabled for event registration.   They are planned, but may be revised closer to the date because of conditions or personal commitments.

Tentative – This category is for longer-term planning with a proposed event and approximate dates.    Sometimes it is posted to see if there is interest (comment or contact the leader).

Paddle and Hike – This is an event that requires paddling (canoe, kayak, or SUP) and hiking.    It is more complicated to organize since boats need to be transported, then secured during the hike.

Biking – unchanged, but rarely used.

Hiking Tours – an event with a series of hikes, sometimes requiring an overnight stay, camping or in area accommodations.
