Join Carole and John on a hike on the southwest area of Mara Mountain. We will be following an off trail route that traverses below Mara Mt. then climbing to a wonderful viewpoint where we will stop for a snack/lunch. From here we will follow a steep narrow track down the west side of Mara Mt. past a feature of “the face” Continuing down the mountain to the trailhead.

We will meet at the Aviation Way dog park [planning to depart at 10:00]  we can arrange carpooling and caravan to the trailhead across the tracks on Ord Rd. We will follow a route through the sagebrush, cactus and probably ticks at a moderate pace. Dress for the conditions, bring a snack, your camera, we will hike together as a group as we will not be following a trail.
