Hike Leader Program

KHC is always looking for more volunteer Hike Leaders.  The Board has defined a Hike Leader Training Program to train/mentor hike leaders and members are encouraged to consider stepping up to lead events. 

Hike Leaders perform the following:

• determine the dates, locations, times, and other details related to the event
• draft & publish events on the website and manage the bookings and answer enquiries.
• meet & welcome registered participants at the meet-up location.
• determine the route, keep the group together, schedule stops, and keep an eye on safety and getting everyone back to the vehicles.

Co-Leaders perform the following:

• assist the Leader with planning, organizing and scheduling the event.
• Help the Leader execute a fun & safe event.

The club is also using a team approach to get regular hikes scheduled for Tuesday (Wanderers), Wednesday (Ramblers) and Sunday (Trekkers) and anyone can join/participate with these groups to help the team plan and execute scheduled events for the club.
