Description
A rugged hike in the hills on the east side of Vernon
- an early start – meet to carpool or convoy
- drive to Vernon, then east to Lavington
- drive up the King Edward FSR and the Brewer Road to the trailhead (gravel road)
- Hike a rugged route with some light scrambling – with great views.
- Good boots, strong ankles, good balance, and an open mind are needed.
- Lunch at a view spot
- Return home in the afternoon
- Hikers are asked to moderate their voices so that other hikers can enjoy the sounds of nature while out hiking. There is a Hiking Etiquette Policy found as a link in the KHC Guidelines and Expectations.
- Tentative for now. The date will be finalized and enabled for registration if there is sufficient interest (4 or more people). This is one I will do either way.
- I may combine this with another hike in the area – Bluenose Mountain.
- Hikes are planned for the rest of the year, with some to be listed on the KHC site. The full list is updated regularly – link.
