As we move into 2026, we will face winter conditions, which will also mean we can ski, snowshoe, and cross country ski for the next 2+ months.    Kamloops Hiking Club will be offering some snowshoeing outings and some winter hikes, but possibly other events if a hike leader or volunteer steps forward.    We are always looking for more hike leaders (more information).    Welcome to our newest leader, Brian Magrath.

In December we offered 9 events.   With so much transitional weather it was hard to schedule hikes with day-to-day changeable conditions.   Thanks to the hike leaders who navigated through the unpredictable weather.

A new category of events was created – Paddle and Hike.    These will be combinations of paddling on lakes or rivers and hiking.     Some events are now listed in a sidebar widget.   The same widget will list backpacks and camp-and-hike outings.

Kamloops Hiking Club currently has 140 members and 6-14 hike leaders active in any given month.   KHC’s annual membership runs to the end of February before members would need to renew.    We will add a button/link to the front page for renewals and new memberships in February.   The year upcoming will see listings for new seasonal events each month, so we hope you will continue to hike (snowshoe, paddle, backpack) with us.
