Kamloops Hiking Club had a busy month of May with 14 events organized by 7 hike leaders. There were 107 spaces filled as leaders took their groups to Kenna Cartwright Park, Albus Falls, Red Plateau, Kalamalka Lake, Rose Hill, Mara Hill, the Rose Swanson Trails, Gattling Gorge, Onyx and Evelyn Falls, Tranquille River Canyon, and Paul Lake. Our thanks to the Wanderers (Erika, Kevin, Monika, Jamie), Darlene, Maureen, Doug and Margo, Ian and Liz, and the other Doug for the gift of their time, effort, and expertise.

Membership Registration continues to stay open with 3 new members in May (welcome to Ian, Jillian, and Leila) and 3 more underway. The total number of members now stands at 152. Our thanks to the ongoing support from Frith, Erika, and Denise to handle new registrations, waivers, and fees.
Images from our events are being shared on Facebook and Instagram. Monthly galleries are posted to Google Photos (a link in More News). Thanks to Denise and Darlene for their ongoing work on sharing.
New events are being posted each week. In June we have upcoming hikes at Shuswap Lake, on Red Plateau, in the Lundbom Grasslands, in Kenna Cartwright Park, and in Wells Gray Park. Check back regularly to see what else is coming.
The Board of Directors continues to have informal discussions. Some initiatives are underway, mostly with individual contacts with hike leaders and members. We are currently seeking more information from hike leaders, perspective hike leaders, and interested members on our future direction. This process is underway and we will share the results once we have received all of the responses.

As always we are hoping to recruit new hike leaders and have all of our hike leaders active. We are interested in hearing from members:
- Which hikes would you like to see organized?
- What day of the week works best for you?
- Do you have preferences – long, short, hard, easy, adventurous, new, fast, slow, small group, large group, social, fitness goals, etc.?
- Contact Us
Kamloops Hiking Club is only effective if we all (new members, continuing members, hike leaders, Board members, and perspective members) communicate with each other to generate new events, informal plans, and new opportunities.
We are including shorter news items in a widget on the right side (More News) for updates on various ongoing issues and updates.
We hope to see you on the trails in June!
