Spring Hikes are underway, organized by KHC’s hike leaders.   We encourage all hike leaders to think about future events for our schedule and at the same time, we are hoping that more members will sign up for posted events.

At the same time, our Board has set some goals for the Club:

• to expand our public profile, mainly through social media
• to open up some KHC events for guests, since there are usually some open spots
• to improve communication with our members
• to continue to add more hike leaders and to support and acknowledge our leaders
• to innovate with some new events and some directed event programming

April was a good month for KHC.   A summary of the events can be found in the News widget on the right side of the website.   May has had a good KHC start too, but we could add some more events.    Here are some possible hikes (in need of hike leaders to step forward):

• Opax Mountain
• Greenstone Trails
• Sunrise Mountain
• Dewdrop Trail (Escarpment)
• Frederick Bluffs
• Godey Creek Trails (Merritt)
• McConnell Lake
• Battle Bluff
• and others too

As a volunteer-based club, we are only successful if members are active.    Thanks to everyone who has been leading events, organizing the Club, and participating in hikes.    Let’s continue to take baby steps toward further growth throughout the hiking seasons.
