There are 3 trailheads:

• at  the corner of Barnhartvale Road and Gardiner Road (recommended)
• across from Barnhartvale Hall
• off Robbins Range Road near Barnes Lake (not an obvious trailhead)
• these are Crown grazing lease lands to the Barnhartvale Horse and Hiker Preservation Society
• etiquette on these trails is to yield to horses;  step off the trail and let them pass
• there are some numbered trails to guide hikers
