- Mara Loop – led by Sasha
- Coal Hill – led by Doug
- Greenstone Loop – led by Darlene
- Abbey Hills – led by Ian and Liz
- Battle Bluff – led by Darlene

- Scott Road – led by Sasha
- Red Plateau – led by Monika and Erika
- Pineview Trails – led by Sheila
- Ironmask Hills – led by Doug
- Tsutswewc Trails – led by John and Carole
As the snow accumulates, KHC will still continue to organize hikes, but some may be on the snow and traction devices are a good idea. Watch for the details in each event listing. Snowshoeing will start once there is enough snow and it has had a chance to “set-up” (settle, be stomped in, or be packed from melt and freeze).
The Board of Directors met, had some discussions, made some decisions:
- A Winter Solstice Potluck is now scheduled for Dec. 14th. An event is posted on the website.
- Also planned is a winter snowshoe, bonfire, and social (probably at Lodgepole Lake), tentatively scheduled for Feb. 1st.
- Annual memberships expire Feb. 28th, so renewals and new member registrations will start near that time. Details will be posted in January.
- A Backpackers’ Gear Swap and Training Session is planned for March 1st. An event will be posted with more details.
- The 2026 KHC AGM is tentatively scheduled for April 5 and details will also be posted later.
- The Event Leader Training Program is under review and a draft is now available for comment (link).
- Backcountry bookings for 2026 start as early as December. Leaders were notified and some may wish to organize a backpack or a Camp and Hike event. Events will be posted to the website.
A photo album using selected posted photos from last month’s events is included here:
