Description
A hike to a unique spot in the backcountry
- Meet early to carpool or convoy (tba)
- Drive the long gravel road to the trailhead (Jamieson Creek FSR – Wind Lake FSR – Skoatl Rd. (km)
- Hike on a good trail through a burnt-but-recovering forest, past a lake, and up to the volcanic cone core
- Scramble up to the top on a series of ledges
- Not for anyone with vertigo or a fear of heights
- Wide views from the summit
- Lunch on top before hiking back
- A long day in the backcountry.
- I have done this hike about 25 times.
