With the arrival of spring, conditions improved on the lower elevation trails, allowing members to hike on a variety of trails and routes.   Leaders have been planning ahead for events through the spring months, with our thanks.

Just ahead is the AGM/Social/Backpack Training/Gear Swap on April 12 from 1:00 to 5:00.    Members can attend for the whole time period or for a part of the time.    We hope to see you there.

In accordance with the requirements of the AGM, documents are being provided in advance.    This will make the meeting shorter and focus ahead for the upcoming year.    The President’s Report, the 2025 Financial Report, and the proposed Budget can be found on a page on this site – KHC Business Page.     The information is only visible to logged-in members.

Nominations for next year’s Board of Directors are open.    We have received the following nominations so far – Darlene Clark – President, Denise Magrath – Vice President, Erika Herndier – Treasurer, Doug Morris – IT Services, and Pamela Black – Secretary.    Vacant positions include Member Services, Website, Hike Leader Program, and anyone wishing to serve as Member-at-Large.   Nominations can be made by contacting us or at the AGM.

Our thanks to all of the 2025-2026 Board of Directors.    Retiring to the hiking trails after the AGM will be Margo Mercier and Doug Smith.    Both have volunteered for many years on the Board of Directors, but will continue as Hike Leaders.

We look forward to meeting new members and to hike with old friends in the upcoming months.    On a sadder note, we will miss our dear friend Frith Powell.   Frith was an active member of the Club and he organized Member Services for over a decade.    Our condolences to Sheila and the Powell Family.

New events are being published regularly.    Members can sign up for events, contact hike leaders, or discuss the possibility of becoming a hike leader.   We hope to see you on the trails often.
