Kamloops Hiking Club had a busy month of May with 14 events organized by 7 hike leaders.    There were 107 spaces filled as leaders took their groups to Kenna Cartwright Park, Albus Falls, Red Plateau, Kalamalka Lake, Rose Hill, Mara Hill, the Rose Swanson Trails, Gattling Gorge, Onyx and Evelyn Falls, Tranquille River Canyon, and Paul Lake.   Our thanks to the Wanderers (Erika, Kevin, Monika, Jamie), Darlene, Maureen, Doug and Margo, Ian and Liz, and the other Doug for the gift of their time, effort, and expertise. Membership Registration continues to stay open with 3 new members in May (welcome to Ian, Jillian, and Leila) and 3 more underway.   The total number of members now stands at 152.    … Continue reading →

Spring Hikes are underway, organized by KHC’s hike leaders.   We encourage all hike leaders to think about future events for our schedule and at the same time, we are hoping that more members will sign up for posted events. At the same time, our Board has set some goals for the Club: to expand our public profile, mainly through social media to open up some KHC events for guests, since there are usually some open spots to improve communication with our members to continue to add more hike leaders and to support and acknowledge our leaders to innovate with some new events and some directed event programming   April was a good month for KHC.   A summary of the events … Continue reading →
