- Load canoes, kayaks, or paddleboards in Kamloops (make your own arrangements, please)
- Drive north through Clearwater, then up the Clearwater Valley Road to the end of the road (127 km – two hours)
- Some of us are meeting at the wells gray Info Center (in Clearwater at 8:30
- load boats with gear at the boat launch, and park vehicles in the adjacent BC Parks designated lot; pay a $5 fee at the launch – meet at 10:00 (early to avoid windy conditions)
- paddling, safety, and camping equipment needed and dry bags are a good idea for stowing the gear
- paddle up the lake, staying close to the shoreline
- paddle for about 1.5 hours+ (6 km)
- land at Diver’s Bluff Marine Campground
- set up camp and have lunch
- hike up the Eagles View Trail and back (3.5 km)
- optional evening paddle, optional morning paddle, and optional exploration
- (campfire-style) social in the evening
- break camp and paddle back to the boat launch on the next morning
- scheduled for mid-week (less boats), after high water, and after mosquito season
- options to stay an extra night on the lake, but I will accompany anyone down the lake, as needed
- I have led many paddling adventures (inc. paddling Clearwater Lake many times) and will be there to ensure safe practices, in the unlikely event of a spill, for direct rescue, and to support/advise the group on gear, etc., as needed
- If there is interest, other paddle and hike trips can be organized (more information link). For example, Murtle Lake is planned for September.
