We will lead a hike on the southwest area of Mara Mountain, some scrambling will be involved. We will be following an off trail route that traverses below Mara Mt. then climbing to a wonderful viewpoint where we will stop for a snack/lunch. From here we will follow a steep narrow track down the west side of Mara Mt. past a feature “the FACE” Continuing down the mountain to the trailhead.

We will meet at the Aviation Way dog park, (planning to depart by 10:00 am) note that there is road construction on Tranquille road past the Brock shopping center, detour is in effect.  We can arrange carpooling and caravan to the trailhead across the tracks on Ord Rd. We will follow a route through the sagebrush, cactus and probably ticks at a moderate pace. Dress for the conditions, boots are preferred. poles can be helpful, bring a snack, your camera, we will hike together as a group as we will not be following a trail.
